This is exactly the kind of thing we need to do to help keep farms viable in New York. Bringing together the various parts of the food supply chain and connecting them is vital. If these farms aren't able to produce at a profit, the owners can end up forced to make decisions that will degrade the region's environment far more than farming, such as hydrofracking or parcelizing. But by helping companies and consumers discover there are alternatives to food shipped from thousands of miles away, we provide a valuable service to the community.
